Who we are

Quality Beverages dates back to 1955, when the company was established as the manufacturer and distributor of PepsiCo brands for the Mauritian territory.  Back then, we began to manufacture and distribute Pepsi, Mirinda and Evervess in 8oz. returnable glass bottles only. Today, and after more than 60 years of operation, we have grown to be one of the leading bottlers and distributors of non-alcoholic- ready-to-drink beverages in Mauritius.  As such, we offer a wide range of beverages that goes from “fun for you” carbonated soft drinks like Pepsi, 7UP, or Mirinda, sugar-free soft drinks such as Pepsi Black or 7Up Free, to 100% fruit juices like Ceres, or still beverages like Lipton Ice Tea and Vital spring water.  Additionally, we now include in our portfolio premium hot beverages like Lavazza coffee.

As from 1st of October 2019, Margarine Industries Limited (MIL) has been amalgamated with and into Quality Beverages Limited (QBL), creating a food and beverage company that is going to deliver sustainable growth, accelerate performance improvement, and maintain our commitment to create value for our customers, employees, and shareholders. As one company, we are driving productivity, gaining competitiveness, while offering innovative products at affordable prices. MIL has been one of the pioneers in the manufacturing industry, operating for the past 50 years. The company manufactures a wide range of products ranging from margarine, spread, butter, and ghee for both retail and industrial customers, within International norms.

In January 2024, Quality Beverages expanded further by acquiring Soap & Allied Industries Limited (SAIL), a leader in the Mauritian market for laundry soaps, beauty soaps, and detergents, with a presence in the Indian Ocean Islands and several African countries. The exclusive importer and distributor of HIMALAYA products—a range of herbal products for personal care, baby care, health care, and animal care. The trading division imports and distributes a range of premium Basmati rice under SAIL’s own brand name – Cercle vert.  An ISO 9001-2015 certified company and REACH compliant, SAIL enhances our commitment to quality, sustainability, and diversification. This acquisition aligns with our strategic vision of growth, enabling us to offer a broader range of high-quality consumer goods, from beverages and food products to personal and home care items.

Always committed to supplying the best quality products to our consumers, we are a HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) certified company, and we hold since 2007 a food certification from the “American Institute for Bakery International (AIBI)”. Additionally, and as a recognition for our top-quality performance, we have won the PepsiCo Silver Food Safety for the last two years in a row. This award is based on Food Safety results and AIBI audit scores.

QBL has in addition two wholly owned subsidiaries. One distributes Total domestic gas bottles (Central Distributors Ltd.) and the second provides advertising and media services (Creative Advertising Bureau Ltd.).

Central Distributors Company Limited (CD)

Established in 1986, Central Distributors Ltd. is a wholly owned subsidiary of QBL. CD distributes gas cylinders for Total Mauritius (Ltd) and services over 500 outlets island wide.

Creative Advertising Bureau (CAB)

Creative Advertising Bureau (CAB) is a wholly owned subsidiary of QBL. CAB was established in 1972 and provides advertising solutions for brands. CAB combines state-of-the-art design with quality services to provide impactful and visually appealing displays. This includes signage, banners, billboards, and totem signs to help businesses increase their brand awareness, and ultimately their sales.
